Record-Breaking Year for Stuff-A-Bus: 82 Buses Filled for Toys for Tots!

Published December 06, 2024

The 2024 Stuff-A-Bus toy drive wrapped up in spectacular fashion with a record-breaking 82 school buses filled to the brim with toys for Western Pennsylvania children—and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation was proud to be part of it.

Held in partnership with 96.1 KISS and benefiting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, Stuff-A-Bus brought the community together for a weeklong toy collection at Robinson Town Centre, featuring nonstop energy from on-air hosts Mikey, Bob, Tall Cathy, and Justin. From December 2 through December 6, listeners dropped off thousands of new, unwrapped toys, helping to brighten the holidays for local families in need.

This year’s campaign received an extra boost thanks to the Lady Pens, the Penguins’ wives and girlfriends organization, who contributed a $10,000 matching donation to support the cause. Alongside in-game collections and online contributions through the Penguins Foundation’s Amazon Wish List, this year’s drive soared past last year’s total, setting a new high-water mark in the 20+ year history of the event.

Since its inception, Stuff-A-Bus has filled more than 870 buses with toys, including hundreds of bikes, dolls, games, and more, all helping the Marine Corps Toys for Tots mission of delivering holiday hope.
