Penguins Wives, Girlfriends Create Special Cookbook for Charity

Pittsburgh Penguins wives and girlfriends have created a special cookbook for charity – titled “Welcome to Our Table” – with pre-sale orders available now. Proceeds from sales of the cookbook, published in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, will support an angel fund to benefit non-profits in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.

The 152-page hardcover cookbook features over 70 recipes by the Penguins wives and girlfriends, who also provided their own photos and stories. “Welcome to Our Table” recipes include some of the players’ favorite dishes, such as Russian Pancakes, Beef Rydberg and Mediterranean Marinated Flank Steak, as well as health-conscious options including the Kale & Quinoa Power Salad, Gluten-Free Pizza Crust and Healthy Peanut Butter Cups.

Penguins Foundation To Sell Love Your Melon Beanies

The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation announced today that for the second-consecutive season it is selling co-branded Love Your Melon beanies to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown and the charitable partners of Love Your Melon.

Beanies will also be available for purchase in-arena on game days at the Penguins Foundation Stand located behind Section 104, starting on Tuesday, December 4 when the Penguins host the Colorado Avalanche.

Pens to Wear Camo Warmup Jerseys As Part of Veterans Day Celebration

Pittsburgh Penguins players will wear commemorative camouflage jerseys in the pre-game warmup Saturday as part of the team’s annual Veterans Day celebration at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens take on the Arizona Coyotes at 7 p.m.

The jerseys will be autographed by the players after the game and auctioned online, with proceeds benefitting the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania. Penguins Present Donation of $348,705 To Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins today presented a donation of $348,705 to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh to benefit victims and families of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill and provide recovery support for the community.

The team, its fans, the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and various corporate partners have conducted ongoing fund-raising efforts, in a campaign called “Stronger Than Hate,” since the tragic shooting at the synagogue took 11 lives on October 27.

The Penguins also will be donating $200,000 to the city’s newly-created Public Safety Support Trust Fund to honor the police, fire, medic and public safety personnel who responded, especially the six officers who were wounded or injured during the shooting.

Pens to Wear ‘Stronger Than Hate’ Patches Tonight Against the Islanders

Pittsburgh Penguins players will wear special “Stronger Than Hate” patches on their jerseys for tonight’s game against the New York Islanders at PPG Paints Arena (7 p.m.).

The patches – and the accompanying jersey auction – are part of the organization’s effort to support victims and families of Saturday’s tragic shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill.

Each player will sign his jersey after the game, and the jerseys will be available for auction at treeoflife.givesmart.com.
